Candy Host

Area Vice President

Candy Host is Area Vice President, Executive Benefits, within Gallagher’s Benefits and HR Consulting division. For more than 15 years, Candy Host has consulted with credit unions on all aspects of the balance sheet. Her expertise includes matters ranging from executive benefit plans and institutional asset management to operations, liquidity management, and income generation. As an Area Vice President, Candy guides credit unions and boards on best practices and compliance for implementing and funding nonqualified plans. In a prior role at Alloya Corporate Credit Union, Candy consulted on solutions for investments, correspondent services, short- and long-term loans, ALM, and investment advisory services.

Candy feels at home in the credit union community for many reasons, including its mission of people helping people. In 2005,Candy helped create the vision of Jodi’s Network of Hope, a nonprofit focusing on safety training for elementary school children and women. She remains active in the organization,through which more than 10,000 students have benefited from the training and annual scholarships. Today Candy serves as the chairperson.

A Hawkeye at heart, Candy earned her Bachelor of Science from the University of Iowa, where she also played on the golf team. She is based outside of St. Cloud, Minnesota with her husband and two young boys.
